Cupidazul,

Yes, I agree that your global command will cover all dial peers for T.38. However, will it also work for MGCP?

Good stuff mate. I was wondering if there is a way to test ISDN channels one at a time. For instance I want to test calls are going thru channel number 10, how do I do that? Is there a way to put maintenance block on all the channels and leave only 10 so it picks the calls?

I have it work by adding T after 82:

destination-pattern 82T

The side effect is after I off-hook the phone, it will automatically connect to fxo port, but it still work.

I'm trying to setup transcoding between CCM7 and CUE7.

My SCCP config looks good but where do I configure it on CM? Should it be as a transcoder? Or an MTP?

I'm guessing the 'telephony-service' config above is only required when using CME?

Thanks

We have a problem with delay in hearing ringback tone between 2 IP phones.

The call between 2 IP phones within the same CUCM cluster could be established. I can hear FIRST ringback tone on calling IP phone, and than should wait for approximately 8-10 seconds for the SECOND ringback tone on calling phone. Meanwhile, called IP phone regularly rings for 4-5 times.

I have 4-digit local extension starting with 11XX.
All other route patterns in dial plan start with '0' (for example, long-distance call 00xxx..., PSTN local calls 012XXXXXX, and so on). So, as far as I understand, there is 'no space' for route pattern overlapping.

Any suggestion, direction to read for solution would be highly appeciated.

I'm also interested for adjusting the 30 seconds timer.

Is it possible to implement MLPP with SIP phone? I suppose the call manager has just to send a BYE SIP message...Even if the MLPP indication is not possible on the phone.

I have some problems with b-acd. All calling should be routed to the hunt-group. When someone is calling he can hear: "press 31 to send the fax or wait for an operator". I have configured it in drop-through mode and do not know how to change configuration file to give caller possibility to chose fax number (FXS line).
Even if someone who is calling is in queue I can't switch him to 31, fax number.
Do you have any idea, here is my config file:

Hi,

I have tried the above many times, but it doesn't work, they say the only way it will work is through Translation Rules that it could identify the calling extension to associate it with the voice port.

has anyone tried the above and it worked???

I wrote a little program that will do the Voice VLAN calculation for you. All you have to do is put in the decimal VLAN ID. Link to the page is HERE.

BTW, thanks for the great post!

in above comment, I wasn't maybe clear enough:
PVC Contracted speed is considered PVC Speed in QoS SRND, where in fact actual port speed might be completely different (but of course, always at least equal or higher than PVC speed) since under one port you can have multiple PVCs.

ah, yeah, then also you need to be careful with 'percent' commands as they will actually be calculated based on the interface bandwidth, which is not CIR but however, it will come to the same point since if requirement is in percents as well then it doesn't matter. However, if you need to convert your real values to percents, then you need to use given value against your 95%CIR value and then convert that to percentage value of that 95%CIR value... :)))
in example: your PVC speed is 768kbps, then you will take 95% of that when configuring CIR value under FR which is 729,600 bps.
However, your port speed can still be full T1.
then, if you need to set 128kbps for voice part but you want to configure that with percentage command, you will actually have the situation that by default only 75% of the bandwith is used for the calculation, so the 100% of the percent configurable value corresponds to actual 75% of the available bandwith (which is full T1, so 75% of T1 is taken as 100% for the BW distribution via bandwith percent command).
However, that's what is going to happen if you forget to set your bandwith on interface. But you can set bandiwth for interface to be your actual CIR value and then you are good to go ;)

This 'CIR' thing might be very confusing since you mentioned for CIR = "set it to 95% of the actual link speed" and then you gave example for voice TS where your CIR is set to 768000 (where that by no means can be 95% of the link speed but actual link speed, if at all).
So, confusion comes in terms of 'link speed' and in terms of voice TS config.
Are you trying to say that when configuring voice TS, one should not set CIR to 95% of link speed?
then again, what is a link speed?
So, QoS topic requires to be more consistent.
I.e.:
QoS SRND states this:
Recommendation: Set the CIR to 95 percent of the PVC contracted speed.

So, this is NOT a link speed, right?
This is PVC contracted speed, which is actually CIR.
So, recommendation is that if you contract CIR with provider, when configuring your router, you should consider 95% of that actual CIR contracted value as your base point for QoS (while, btw, you should still consider actual CIR value for fragmentation, when setting fragment size)

Hi,
Did you mean that Caller ID can be passed from 2800 gateway to a CM version 7.x over MGCP??
I found this article at CISCO site and it partially tilling me it won't work with that combination: http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/voicesw/ps556/products_tech_note09186a0080237271.shtml
Additionally, I have configured this on our network and lost Caller ID on all of our incoming lines.
Any idea?

It's about the CCM, not the GK.
It defines on what port the CCM is expecing incoming signaling traffic for this trunk.
If you have more then 1 trunk you need more then 1 TCP port to differentiate traffic. That's why it's only valid for 1 trunk.

Is't possible to make prioritization for phones? As for an instance: When 1st inbound call to shared line comes to CME, it will forward call to the ephone with priority 1, and waiting its rejection or answering for a while.
If call would be rejected, so ccme forwards it to another phone with priority 2. If call would be answered, and another call comes into ccme, it forwards this call to the phone with second priority..

i have this configuration with frequent MWI issues. i currently have my ephone-dn's for this setup with 10 incoming and 2 outgoing mwi ports. I am just wondering if my 2 ports are the issue? I have tried with 1 previously but this seems to run better for longer.

modification. subscribe this logout profile to User Device profile.

always make sure:

login profile should subscribed to physical phone
logout profile should subscribed to user device profile.

why?

u walk into a meeting room, just press service button select Em login: (coz it shud be on physical). then u put your username and pass. EMprofile gets loadeld into phone and uget your extension.

then what?

if u want to walk away and logout yourself from meeting room phone. since you are already in your EM profile so thats why the logout profile shud be on user device profile.

Logging sync works on vty and con.

I would also create aliases for some common commands.
eg:
alias exec sb show run | begin

i have a question about viazone:
I've built some small Lab and topology is,
VG---GK1----VIAZONE----GK2---VG
if i used cisco VG, the call is succeded. But, if i used another VG (micronet) the call is fail.
I saw from ethereal that the call is being rejected by GK1, so the call is not even cross VIAZONE.
Would you please give me some advice regarding this problem.

regards,
hadi

Hi Guys, I have a problem with transcoder, right now i dont know if this is a bug or something that I dont understand or I forgot to configure. This is the problem:
I have three sites (HQ)(BR1) and (BR2), with regions:

hq to hq (g711) hq to br1 (g729) hq to br2 (g729)
br1 to br1 (g711) br1 to hq (g729) br1 to br2 (g729)
br2 to hq (g711) br2 to br1 (g729) br2 to br2 (g729)

site hq and br1 are in ccm, br2 is a CME connected throughout a gatekeeper(ICT), for this trunk I need MTP for supplementary services, but if the Xcode asigned to the trunk is not in the same device pool that the phone that is calling or called on ccm, tha call get droped, the phone rings but when the call is answered it gets disconected.
