If you set EXt. phone number mask at the line level, the header bar on ip phone will be set to the same number. If phones extension is 1631 and you set the mask to 817542XXXX, the header bar will display 8175421631.

Or does it actually mask the phone number displayed to external phones???

Is there no way to set the header bar to something else? I have multiple Communications Manager Express’ right now and have a label statement on the DN that sets the header bar to the phone user’s name. But in our recent full CUCM install, we cannot set the header bar to display the phone user’s name since it’s driven by the External Mask.
Is there something that can be edited in a Phone Template or something that can tell it what to display on the Header Bar?
It’s slightly bothersome that I can do something in CME that I can’t do in CUCM.
Did anyone get a solution to this???
