  2. Arman says:

There are several ways of identifying your caller first before taking any calls on your 0800 and 0845 numbers. It includes call whisper, caller id, force caller id and voicemail.
Call whisper, also called call screening, is a feature common to hosted inbound call handling software and non-geographic telephony systems. Call whisper messages can be customized so that the called party would know the nature of the call through the number function dialed.

Caller ID, otherwise known as calling number identification (CNID) or calling line identification (CLID), is useful if you want to choose the calls that you are going to take or reject. A device attached separately or a telephone’s display will provide you with the information as to who is calling.

Force Caller ID gives you the ability to identify incoming calls which are for your landline or mobile number and those who have dialed your Numberstore number. You will have the opportunity of knowing how to take the call appropriately (either businesslike or casual mode) since the caller display will show you the number that has been dialed.

Voicemail works in the same manner as that of an answering machine. But voicemails can be sophisticated because it can store messages in mailboxes associated with a user’s phone number and play different greeting messages to special callers.

Hi. I use UC540. Connect to PSTN thru SIP trunk. I must change one incoming number from PSTP on user name. I use command
    service dnis overlay
    service dnis dir-lookup
end design number: directory entry 34 xxxxxxxxxx name Yaroslav
but when ringing number xxxxxxxxxx I see number instead name.
    Can You help me?

  4. jaspis says:

    Hello Vladimir,

You can use service dnis overlay OR service dnis dir-loockup, not both at the same time.
So, try to delete service dnis overlay if you don’t have overlay lines in CME. Probably, that is the key.

  5. Simon says:

Is there any way to get CME to do the dnis dir-lookup from an external directory service (url directories )
