CUE – Mailbox Storage Allocation

Posted: April 29, 2006 by cciestudy in Cisco Unity Express

CUE stores messages and greeting in G711 format.

1 min of stored voice = 60 seconds * 64000 bits = 3840 Kb = 480 KB

On a AIM with 1 Gig Flash, 400 Meg will used for storing messages and 600 Megs used for OS, scripts, greetings etc

Files are stored in g711 PCM – when recording directly in to the system, playback sounds great; however, when I record a .wav file on a pc try to upload it to the CUE, it tells me “unkonwn file format” even when it is encoded in g711, unless the bitstream is set to 8.000kHz, 8 bit, mono @ 7kb/s, which it lets me upload and use but sounds terrible on playback. Is there a way around this or a way to upload a better quality file? Or am I stuck with recording directly in to the CUE system?

    Thank you
