CME – CUE Integration

Posted: May 2, 2006 by cciestudy in Callmanager Express, Cisco Unity Express

CUE understands only G711 codec.

If you want to use g729 over the WAN, you need to setup transcoders for the CME.

In CME, each call takes 2 transcode session (one for each leg of the call). So if you setup 2 sessions, you can place only 1 call.

###Activate DSP farm services####

voice-card 0
dspfarm
dsp services dspfarm

### Enable SCCP and select the interface that will be used to register

sccp local FastEthernet0/0
sccp ccm 10.1.11.4 identifier 1
sccp
!

##Define DSP profiles, use mac-address of the interface selected above.
sccp ccm group 1
associate ccm 1
associate profile 1 register mtp0013c3443150
!
dspfarm profile 1 transcode
codec g711ulaw
codec g711alaw
codec g729ar8
codec g729abr8
codec gsmfr
codec g729r8
maximum sessions 2
associate application SCCP

###Tell CME To use this trancoder. Note that the units command has to be specified before the tag command. With out the sessions command transcoding will not work. All 3 commands below are necessary.

telephony-service
sdspfarm units 1
sdspfarm transcode sessions 4
sdspfarm tag 1 mtp0013c3443150

  1. Michael says:

Are you able to have a call from CCM rollover to CUE voicemail.

I get a call disconnect wehn trying to rollover to CUE via Gatekeeper.

  2. Bilal says:

    In addition for the transcoding configuration pasted above, in order to have a call from CCM rollover to CUE voicemail, you need to define the following on CME router;

    Voice service voip
    allow-connection h323 to sip

then you will be in CUE voicemail 🙂

    Regards;
    Bilal

I try this, but I can’t use transcoding resource 😦

I see that transgoder is active and registered, but call drops with “(bearer capability not implemented (65))”

  4. Matt says:

Also, make sure you define the transfer pattern and transfer system under telephony service 😉

  5. Matt says:

Sorry about the above. Its actually the call-forward pattern that needs to be configured.

  6. Matty says:

I’m trying to setup transcoding between CCM7 and CUE7.

My SCCP config looks good but where do I configure it on CM? Should it be as a transcoder? Or an MTP?

I’m guessing the ‘telephony-service’ config above is only required when using CME?

    Thanks
